Every election
day, an army of nearly 50,000 Pennsylvanians go out in the early
morning and spend the next 14-16 hours or more fighting for our
Democracy.
As a voter,
you have encountered them every single time you ever came to
the polls.
Who are these
intrepid folks who give two days every year to help ensure that
our elections run smoothly and fairly?
These people
are OUR PENNSYLVANIA POLLWOKERS. This site is here to help you
learn more about what our pollworkers do, and how you
can help our Democracy by joining them.
Look through our site for more
information, but here are some of the things pollworkers do:
- Open and close the polls
- Help sign in voters and admit
them to the voting machines
- After poll closing, prepare
the election results to be delivered to your county and post
them at your polling place for the public to read
